About Masterclasses

Come behind the scenes with us and be inspired as internationally acclaimed artists share their experience and expertise with talented early-career artists and young music students.

Musica Viva masterclasses, bespoke workshops and mentorships provide an inspiring and enriching learning experience for audiences, students, and music teachers of all ages and levels of musical knowledge.

Our Masterclasses include both livestreamed and in-person events all around the country.

For Music Students

Musica Viva Australia’s Masterclasses program gives music students the opportunity to play for and be mentored by some of the world’s finest chamber musicians in a variety of learning environments. Pull apart musical works, try out new techniques and performance ideas, examine a piece of music within its historical context, and uncover hidden meaning within the pages of a musical score.

For Music Teachers

Masterclasses provide new perspectives on playing, teaching, and interpretation, and an opportunity to learn a variety of teaching techniques employed by the mentors to enhance the students’ playing and musical understanding.
